funana.org is an academic-social engagement initiative created by Carla Martin, a PhD Candidate in the Department of African and African American Studies at Harvard University. At present, funana.org aims to expand the distribution of books published in Cape Verde to the United States through a partnership with the National Library of Cape Verde. Having worked with Cape Verdean communities in Africa, Europe, and the United States for over a decade, Carla is also currently completing her dissertation entitled "Sounding Creole: The Politics of Cape Verdean Language, Music, and Diaspora." She received an AM in Anthropology in 2007 and an AB in Anthropology in 2003, both from Harvard University. Please stay tuned for future funana.org projects.
